Loving Lately : Jane Fonda

Isn't she just the cutest? A friend posted a trailer for Barbarella on Facebook, and since then, I've been googling and watching trailers for old Jane Fonda movies. I just can't get over her perfect 60's/70's look (the hair!!). I'm also really looking forward to getting around to watching Barbarella. Yes, I'm a nerdy lady who enjoys campy sexy space travel movies...

I hope to be back in this space soon. I know it's been quite a while since I've popped in to say hello. I've been a very busy bee with school and my internship (I should post about that sometime...). Only 2 more weeks of Fall semester! Woo Hoo! Jeez the time has been flying lately. I'm still waiting for September to start, but apparently it's Christmas time. Who knew? xoxo Natalie

High waisted jeans makeover

Hello all! I'm posting today from my iPhone. I did a quick little project while on vacation to a pair of high waisted jeans I got on my birthday. I absolutely loved them, but after a few wears I realized I just couldn't deal with the length. They were just a tad too short, and wearing wedges or any shoes with height was out of the question, which to me is just unacceptable for those kinds of pants. So a few snips with some scissors, and now they are shorts! I'm pretty happy with the outcome, but they still need to be hemmed.

Have you made any changes to vintage clothing to give it new life? I'd love to hear about it!

Headed East to Virginia Beach

Tomorrow Alex and I will be making the 11 hour drive to Virginia Beach, VA to visit his mother. With the heat being as unbearable as it has been lately, swimming in the ocean is becoming more and more appealing... This is coming from a person who isn't really a beach person (what, you like stingrays and fish nibbling at your feet?) so you know it's hot. Anyway, we are excited about strapping the kayaks to the roof of the car and heading toward the water.

What I wouldn't do for each and every one of those swimsuits... all photos from here.

I hope to share some bits from our trip throughout the week. Have a great one!

Dazed and Confused

It's no secret that Dazed and Confused is one of the best movies, like, ever. I desperately wanted to hang out with the guys, and wished that one day the lovely ladies would give me a makeover. I mean how cool are they? I just scored some awesome high waisted jeans from Acorn Apparel, and have been dying to try them out. I was looking around the internet for some 70's style inspiration, and just had to gush about one of my all time favorite films. The style is amazing, I wish I could dress like that every day.

and who could forget the coolest dorks around?! via

Ahhh.... dreaming up some good stuff for when it's not a million degrees outside. I suppose I'm 70's style today with my tie-dye shirt and pigtail braids.... right?

Music Monday : The Beach Boys (Father's Day edition)

This Music Monday (a day late) is dedicated to my dad. I grew up with a love for the beach boys because of my dad, and I thank him for that. Who doesn't love a little Pet Sounds? I'm really excited for my dad because tonight he is off to Cincinnati to see The Beach Boys live! He has seen them 2 or 3 times before, but this will be his first time seeing Brian along with the gang. It seems like a perfect summer evening, and I have to admit I'm a wee bit jealous.

And because you cant listen to The Beach Boys without dreaming of a classic 1960's beach party...
